“Ah no, not yet unfortunately. There haven’t been any replies to my applications yet, “
Liz frowned sympathetically. "Bummer. I'll ask at work for you, but I wouldn't get your hopes up." she said, taking a sip of her drink.
“I was thinking… would you two like to come to my house for dinner some time?”
She grinned. "I'd love to. That'd be brilliant. we could-" but before she could say anything else, a sudden movement caught her eye from the crowd, occompianied by a scream and a grunt, before the culprit rushed out of the door. "Excuse me" she said to Pat and Liz, reaching for her gun as she slammed her drink down on the bar, and pulled it out of it's holster, rushing into the crowd. She glimsed the screamer, on the ground bleeding, but it was just a small cut, nothing to stop for. She was already getting to her feet. She focused her attention on the alien as she exited the nightclub, and set into a run.
-Bella, feel free to follow. You've got to find out about Torchwood etc somehow. -

“I’d love to. That’d be brilliant.” Bella smiled back. Yes! she thought. Now I can have someone to keep me company for once! She was immersed in her thoughts until she heard the scream. She ignored it, thinking it was just some drunk girl who’d seen a spider or something, until Liz grabbed a gun from her jeans and rushed off. What the hell is happening? Why was Liz running off with a gun…Oh my god, have I just made friends with some sort of crazy psychopath? I mean she is a medic, so I can understand why she would rush off to help someone who’s hurt, but she has a gun? Most medics are about saving lives, not going off and shooting people. Just a minute, maybe she isn’t a medic. Maybe she’s a spy for some sort of agency somewhere. Like for Russia, and she’s fitting in well because she doesn’t look Russian or whatever. And she’s pretending to be a medic so like, she can, I don’t know, get into special government places after bombs go off or something. Maybe she’s using me so she can spy on someone else important. Oh god, listen to me. Paranoid much? And anyway, I don’t know anyone important… Just a minute, what’s that? Liz’s purse! Yes! Now I have a reason to go randomly rushing off after her and find out what’s going on! Oh fuck. Why the hell did I get myself into this? Maybe I should have just accepted Zeke’s offer of a job there and then and I would have never come here and have to have this happen. She grabbed Liz’s purse and turned to Patrick. “I’m really sorry, I’ve got to go. Give this back to Liz,” she said, holding up the purse so she wouldn’t look suspicious or whatever. “It was really great meeting you Patrick. Perhaps you can come to dinner. Friday next week? We can meet at the pub down the road at seven or so and then go to my house afterwards for dinner. Great, hope you can come. Anyways, got to dash. Seeya!”She checked to make sure she had her purse before running off into the crowd in the direction Liz had gone. Now, whatever is over there is obviously dangerous if she had a gun. Oh fuck, she has a gun. Oh god! She has a gun. SHE HAS A GUN! You stupid girl, why are you running after someone to interrogate them when they have a gun? A gun!. They’ll probably just shoot you! Well anyway, dangerous stuff. What happens if Liz doesn’t shoot her, but the dangerous thing tries to? For the love of pink bananas, how the hell am I going to defend myself? I probably should have thought of that earlier. Yeah about that…Looking around, she spied the games room area. Running to the wall, she grabbed a pool cue. Now she was slightly more protected than before. Aha! Weapon! Pool cue! Actually wait… how’s this going to defend me against a gun? How? Well, it’s probably better than no weapon. Well, maybe it’s not because now I look a bit suspicious. I mean, who goes around with a pool cue? No one even hardly goes into this bit of the club anyway so there wouldn’t be any one who was holding a cue before this all started. I might just put this back then…Bella put the cue back on the wall. She turned around quickly and scanned the crowd for any sign of Liz. People were crowded around a girl who had just got up from the ground and were asking her what she had seen. Bella ran back towards the crowd guessing Liz had run past there to whatever had been behind her. Passing the girl she overheard part of her story. Bella never remembered anything of what she overheard except one word. Alien.

Liz careened after the creature, gun by her side. She was a fair way behind it, but as long as she stayed this distance away, and not any further, she shouldn't lose it. As she chased after the creature - and an ugly on it was at that. It coul pass for human, at a distance, but the smell was revolting! - she cursed Jack and Ianto. What the hell was she supposed to do now? Even if she did catch it without getting herself killed, which was unlikely. When she saw them next, and god help them it better be soon, she was going to rip their bloody heads off. Lets toy with the new girl a bit and send her after an alien with..with...with bloody tusks, Liz saw as it turned to see if she was still following. They were cutting through alleys now, the kind you avoided late at night unless you wanted to get stabbed, although Liz preffered to be in these rather than out in the pulbic streets. It was too easy to lose someone there, and too easy for innocent bystanders to get in the way. And then she'd have to stop and help them, and the whole bloody thing would be over. She skidded around another corner, only to backtrack as she came almost face to face with the thing. Not a good thing, as it was reacting much the same way as a snack does when forced into a corner with no escape. Violently and angrily. She backtracked, pulling her gun up and safety off, only to scream when she ran into a person behind her.
"Jack, Ianto, that better be you." she growled, taking aim on the approaching figure as it extended savage claws.

Catching a glimpse of Liz further ahead in the crowd, Bella ran towards her. Well, not really running, more dodging past all the people, some of the still ignoring the commotion and still dancing. Almost tripping over someone slumped down next to the wall, Bella managed to make her way outside without falling over. She quickly bent down and took off her shoes. Running in heels more than you have to is not a good idea!
A small breeze came her way, bringing along with it an awful stench. Coughing she picked up her shoes and started running towards the alleyways, guessing the thing she was chasing would try to hide there. The smell grew stronger as she came closer to it. Eventually she caught a glimpse of Liz around the corner. Then she caught a glimpse of ‘the thing’, and stopped. She stared at it. “Oh my god,” she whispered to herself.
What the hell is that thing? It looks human, but it doesn’t. Maybe that girl was right. Maybe it was an alien. Alien. Yeah I’m sure it is an alien. I mean, because aliens come into nightclubs and scare people every day.
She began to walk backwards, away from the thing, and almost fell over when Liz came running backwards around the corner. She watched as the thing extended its claws. She screamed and moved further backwards away from it. Liz aimed her gun at the thing as it moved closer towards her. Bella closed her eyes and began hoping this was all just a nightmare.

Liz glanced around to see who she had run into, and bit back a curse as she saw not Jack or anto, or indeed anyone who had any clue whatsoever what they were doing. Instead it was the shrink she had met in Starbucks a few weeks ago. Not that she had anything against the girl, she actually quite liked her. But given the choice, someone with a tad bit more experience and at least a tiny idea of what to do when facing an angry trapped alien would have been nice. Because she was seriously in over her head.
"I know it may seem rude, but what the hell are you doing here?" hissed Liz as the two of them backed away from the advancing creature. "And you wouldn't have anything in your pyscologists brain that could help us here would you?"
As she finished her words, the creature took another step forward. They weer almost within its reach. Lizmade up her mind, taking aim, but changed her mind, switching her aim to its leg and firing. If it had of been a human, a shot like that to the knee would have brought it down screaming. Unfortunatley, it wasn't, and the shot just seemed to anger it. It lashed out with a clawed hand.
"Duck!" screeched Liz, dropping to a crouch to avoid the claw.

Opening her eyes again, she heard Liz talking to her as the creature advanced.
"And you wouldn't have anything in your pyscologists brain that could help us here would you?"
Trying to think straight in her panic, she answered. “Well, what does it want? If you give it what it wants it might go away,” she replied. “Or maybe you can bargain with it. I don’t know if creatures that look like that would be willing to bargain though. Don’t you have someone you can call or something to ask for help? I mean, not even spies or government officials go out on their complete own. You must have some form of back-up, mustn’t you?”
The creature was nearly in striking distance. Liz raised her gun and shot it in the leg, but it still kept advancing. Duck! Bella ducked and moved backwards again. “Are you sure you don’t have some sort of back-up you can call? Anyone? I can use my phone to call them or whatever if you need me to,” she called. “Oh god, I feel useless. Please give me something to do,” she said to Liz, trying to make herself useful. The creature swung another claw their way and she ducked again, only being missed by a tiny amount. “Oh my god, what are we going to do?”

If you give it what it wants it might go away
"I don't think it want anything? Does it look like it wan't anything we can give it - apart from our heads." The look in the things beady eyes was certainly not one of fear or confusion, merely rage.
You must have some form of back-up, mustn’t you?
Liz's lip twisted. "My 'backup' thought it would be a good training excercise. Said I could handle it, while they have some of their own bloody fun." She pushed a button on her com, linking her through to Ianto and Jack. "Screw you two. I've I get bloody killed, I'm haunting you. "
Oh my god, what are we going to do?
Liz wracked her brain for something she could use as a weapon, anything, as the gun was proving useles. She didn't want to kill the thing. Given the impact of her last bullet, she wasn't even sure she could. She ducked another swipe of the claws, and caught sight of something poking from Bella's pocket.
"Bella! The pepper spray! Quick, spray it's eyes!" she hissed.
(I know there's been no mention of pepper spray. If you don't want it, I can edit the post.)

~*~No probs, its fine. Good idea but. Wish I'd thought of i t=)~*~
Ducking another swipe from the creature, Bella heard Liz giving her instructions.
"Bella! The pepper spray! Quick, spray it's eyes!"
“Pepper spray? Oh yeah, I remember now, in my pocket,” she replied. She had forgotten she had it, as she hadn’t needed to use it and also because it looked like a lipstick container. She threw away her shoes and wallet and reached into her dress pocket. Pulling off the lid she turned it around so the nozzle faced the creature. Bella moved closer to the creature and sprayed it in the direction of its eyes. The creature stopped for a moment and stumbled slightly. Bella sprayed it once more for good luck. The creature seemed angrier than before but had stopped swiping its claws at them. “What do we do now?”

Liz frowned, quickly replaying the creatures reaction to the pepper spray in her head. THere had definitly been an effect. She just prayed that it would repeat the same reaction, and that it wasn't just the shock of a first experience. "Spray it again." she hissed at Bella, guesturing that she was going to try and sneak around bhind the creature, to where she could see several planks of wood stacked against the wall. She was going to get herself bloody killed, but it was worth a shot.

"Spray it again."
As the creature continued to stumble, Bella sprayed it again the frowned. “What are you doing? You’re going to what?” she asked Liz. Liz signalled to the wood against the wall behind the creature. “Wha- ohhh,” she replied, realising what she was going to. Bella sprayed the creature once again just in case, keeping the last spray in the can for if she needed it later. “Quick,” she said. “I don’t think the effect’s going to last much longer.”
