Aeris took in everything the Doctor said about his cousins back on his home planet, and she merely nodded. She couldn't really relate to that. Well, she did have a few relatives who thought her fetish for crazy inventions was a little out of hand. That is, the inventions that she shared with them. The other gadgets, well...they were not for public ears. If that was the cae, she would have probably been either thrown in prison, or brutally executed for not having a proper license to invent. Especially now that she has progress from tiny gadgets, to handy inflitrator tools, to A.I., and now to weaponry. She hardly ever used half the weapons she created, but it was the fun of inventing something new with gave her joy to no end.
Her face lit up, and she could tell how excited the Doctor when she told him her own creations. He reminded her of a child trapped in an adult body. The way he reacted was interesting, yet she could almost tell he did have a brilliant mind. He seemed to give off a very friendly vibe, which she took particular interest in, "Oh, then I think you may be interested in my other work. I love creating handy little gadgets, more in specialising in the areas of communication, inflitration as some very detective-like tools. I have progressed into weapons, but they hardly ever get used. I just enjoy assembling them. I think you may find my A.I. interesting also. I have to program some basic emotions into him, though. He seems a bit...dull"
Aeris hesitated for a bit, and then nodded solemly, "It is quite alright. I am not too happy to be here, but i'm suprised to say, i've gotten used to it. I have no intentions of going back home..." Then he mentioned something about a TARDIS, "A TARDIS? Is that your spaceship? That's rather unfortunate. Perhaps, I could see what is wrong with it. I don't want to intrude, but if you don't mind, I can take a look at it? I've repaired ships before."

Forty-four, that's how many cousins he had. They bullied him as a child. So did other Time Tots cos he was different he had a navel and it didn't make things simpler. It only made him the center of attention-- that and him lacking a true name it didn't help much. The Doctor was always the odd ball out. Luckily he met the Master and they had mini adventures of their own. From going to the lake or just running in the Master's fathers estate fields of crimson grass. He had just as many good memories as bad ones.
"I would love to see it sometime. All of them." he noted as it was something to do and he needed to keep his head occupied. He needed to be busied or he would grow bored which was bad both for him as well as the universe as a bored Doctor was not a good thing at all. "Well maybe the guy needs a little love. Dunno, I never took a huge fancy to robots. But I could take a looks-y if you like." The Doctor pressed his lips together and bobbled his head in understanding. There once was a time when he didn't want to go home as well. "Understandable, so your running away then?" If she was he could hop right into her shoes because he had personally had been there. "TARDIS, Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. Sorta like a ship, I guess you could say that. As much as I would love the help-- and I really would because I tied everything-- I can't let you. There are certain rules I can't break and that's one of them." He said sticking to the laws of the Time Lords-- who were supposedly dead but he felt the responsibility to follow them out. Show the robot a bit of love? She shuddered at the thought. Sure, she marveled at the knowledge and skills she had programmed inside of it. But to actually love the creature, was beyond the rules of her species. There were, guidlines. No Lyran - Re can show that much love to an invention without becoming extremely reckless and foolish. If she showed that thing any more love, more likely she'd be capable of mutilating it further, so that it was more of as death-machine than a Spybot. She would leave the thing along for the time being, because if she tampered with it too much, it has a likely chance of rebellion. And, it has happened before, because of her obsession. There is always a fine-line between tampering and upgrading, and a combination of both was never good.
She hummed slightly, which was soft and almost in thought, "Not if my AI resembles a spider the size of a poodle. He has a very smart attitude, Unfortunatly, I got a bit of coding mixed up. Oh well, not every invention is perfect - "
"Running away? To put it bluntly, yes. More like, an escape from the harsh culture of my people." One she offered to take a look at his ship, possibly help repair it, she was a little down by the fact that he rejected the offer. No matter. It was a nice thing to do, and he may not even trust her enough to do that. She may have to work on her communication skills, especially in light if the human culture. What was wrong with her? Her manners were hopeless. It was no wonder it took her so long to blend in with the planet. "I understand. No matter how much we despise the rules of our people, somehow, we end up following in their footsteps. I, for one, is guilty for that fact. You don't trust me, do you?"
Her smile faded slightly, and her eyes appeared somewhat, dazed, and she looked almost sad. She had always had an issue with trust. Then again, there was not many who she would place her own trust in, either. She was always disappointed and saddened by that fact. All within her childhood, she was always the outcast. The one who sat conspiring in the shadows. The lonely girl with a knack for adventure. The one always with morbid thoughts, desperate to get away from her harsh reality of her homeworld. No-one trusted her, or even loved her for that fact. Not even her family, which is why she never intends to go home. Not ever in her wildest dreams. No wonder she has a trust issue. Maybe that's why she ended up on Earth. Destiny must have taken its toll, and maybe she yeared for someone to confide in her. To trust and put their faith in her.

Perhaps his words came out all wrong. The Doctor mused to himself wondering thinking for sometime. He didn't take back what he said but instead he let the topic slip. It would be for the best as robots were always a subject of debate and disputes. The Doctor never had a liking to them but on the rare occasion he would love one. Take K9 for example that dog was lovable one hundred percent. Everyone loved K9 even the Doctor who was hard to please when it came down to robots and artificial intelligence.
"Soap is an invention that is perfect in every which way and the teddy bear." he countered lightly. Soap and teddy bears were perfect in every which way-- at least in the Doctor's opinion. Physic paper and sonic screwdrivers would be next online. Somethings held the potential of being perfect others did not again K9 would be an example as the dog cheated at chess all the time and loved annoying the Doctor down to his bones. Feeling for her the Doctor wanted to give her a hug as he was there many times. He had arguments with his people for ages. Now they were gone, but he did run away at one point. "I ran away and I never stopped running." he noted. "What? No, of course I do. Its just I can't let anyone touch my TARDIS-- I had bad experiences and that and then rules. Here I'll prove it to you. You will catch me when I fall backwards. Ready?" He turned around and waited for a moment or two before closing his eyes and fell backwards. "Thus I trust you. QED." [/blockquote]

"Yes, well, once he find out who and what you are, he will ever stop prodding you. I never seem to be left alone by him, that's for sure. Oh, I just had an idea....Oh, never mind...." She'll file that thought for later, if her memory wasn't playing tricks on her. Perhaps if she encoded a bit of her imprint, then maybe it could display more of her range of personality...No, that'll be weird. Doesn't hurt to try though. Not that she had much of an emotional range, but hey, it's better than being deadpan and dull.
"Bloody culture. If I were you, do not go travelling there. They hate visitors, and would probably suspect you as being a spy. And the laws against being the spy...well, let's just say that'll be the last thing you see...." No more eye's for the curious, that's fr sure. Eyes squeezed right out of their sockets, blood vessels and all. And she had seen the suffering happen. Not a pretty sight. It was outrageous, "Thus why I escaped. I could not bare it. It seems we have a bit in common, Doctor."
After she asked about trust, he turned around and fell backwards. Well, she wasn't going to let him fall, that's for sure. Despite her twisted sense of humor. She caught him with a vice-like grip, and hoped she didn't leave a bruise on his arms. Having a metallic interior does have it's downsides....hence she doesn't like to give any a hug. "Okay, okay, I get it. Hope I didn't leave a bruise on your arm...Of coarse I wouldn't let you fall on your backside and crack your skull open. Although, I do love watching people trip over...human clumsiness....You are very peculiar, you know that? Eccentric, yet intellegent. Quite a rare combination."

QED or Quod erat demonstrandum literally meant "which was to be demonstrated." It was stated commonly at the end of a mathematical or physical proof. In some cultures it was held cultural values take Douglas Adams who wrote the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy when it was stated about how logic defeated god. In Time Lord society which was run on a basis of logic the phase was common. For the record the Doctor met Douglas Adams and his TARDIS was the basis of the ship of the Heart of Gold.
"That's why I generally don't take a fancy to robots cos they always dig under my nerves," The Doctor told her thinking again of how K9 would always know how to press his buttons and cause him to flip out in sheer annoyance. He did love that retro tin dog very much but sometimes K9 was a complete and total nuisance. The Doctor was just about to open his mouth to wonder what that idea might be but found himself stopping himself short before he inquired, "Ah, and what might that be?" Smiling he nodded and opened his mouth to speak and explain what occurred the last time he was on Lyran-De. "Yep, thing is already did that. Huge mess mind...almost died in the process and it was not my cuppa of tea. Nope, not at all. I've been everywhere and seen all sorts of things. But there's still surprises and even in the darkest of times there's always some odd twist or turn tossed at you. Trust me, I've been there and experienced it." Wincing he smiled as she caught him as her arms were a little rough but he held his thoughts to himself as he's been though worse. Peri said that to him as well. He snorted lightly and helped himself from her grip. Eccentric indeed. "Not really...OK well maybe. Its perfectly normal for me thank you very much." [/blockquote]

She stared over at the water, almost in deep-thought. "Well, I do have a few spare parts from my motion sensored wire trap, which I could duplicate and re-wire the blue circultry to the internal hard-drive...That might work...Hmm, that means the Ai would be a robotic copy-cat...Maybe i'll skip that one for now - " Yeah, that might be disatrous. Speaking of copy cat, her new AI model may take the form of a cat. She always took a fascination for the felines of Earth. But, she needed to study it first to be able to create a phycology profile imprint. She'd hardly have the time for that.
She clicked her tounge, and stared back at the Doctor, "I'd always dreamed of travelling. Mainly for the diversity in technology between cultures. I could research them and use the inspiration to create more advancements...But, once I can get the Fioran travel device working again, I can do just that. " She could travel the stars, all on her own. The first of her kind to have ever travelled beyond her planet, without the constraints of the laws binding her home. Now that she rebelled against them, she literally had no more fear for her elder superiors. They can kiss her arse, so she has picked up from humans. Although, remaining on earth can give her extra human study she needed to survive on her own. Their way of life seemed more....relaxed.
After his comment in agreement to him being a normal eccentric, she stood silent for a moment, and lowered her head, "I am sorry if this may sound a little personal, and I apologize, but I must ask...Do you miss the ways of your kind? I've heard the Time Lords' power went into their heads, so to speak. Sorry, this might seem rude, but i've been wondering for quite some time..."

Smiling he said nothing more to it as he didn't wish to interfere with her plans on her robotic project. He knew a good thing or two about robots and one of them was not interfering with the maker. The Doctor being from an advanced society he knew a great deal more than the average alien. His head bobble up and down like a buoy out at sea.
If he could show her the stars he would. Just one trip which turned into a two, to a handful to sometimes a whole bunch of adventures. Martha Jone's trip turned into millions of adventures packed with hands on science, fighting harmful aliens who wished to destruct the space-time continuum with their own ideas, and running. His heart soared at the marvelous idea but he couldn't defy gravity he was being held down by a shipwreck. It sucked and he was trapped in the twenty-first century. "I wish I could show you the universe. It's a beautiful place out there." He looked at her and nodded hoping she could see it all because it was really worth it, even if it was for just one trip. Hearts turning cold he looked out upon the bay and got lost within the changing of the tides. His mind wandered over the basic physics of it and then he stared back at the blond haired alien for a moment before his eyes got lost in the bay once more. "We used to be great, brilliant people and then they lost their brilliance with war. We all did. I changed, they didn't and lead me to destruct the planet. I miss what it was, not what it became during the war. Gallifrey was beautiful with orange skies and crimson grass, snow covered mountains, two shining suns, and silver leaved trees. It was wonderful-- but its all dust now. From dust to dust."[/blockquote]
