brief history:
The Master grew up on Gallifrey, with his true name Koschei. He attended the Prydonian Chapter of the Academy and was part of a group of young Time Lords known as the Deca. With him in the Deca were Theta Sigma (The Doctor), Ushas (The Rani) and Magnus (The War Chief). In their youth, Theta and Koschei would play in his father's estates in endless pastures of red grass. There they shared a tentative first kiss in the fields of crimson.
From a young age, Koschei and the young Doctor were both viciously bullied, until Theta was forced to kill the bully in order to save Koschei's life. Later Koschei became Death's Champion by fault of Theta, who refused to accept the title and suggested the young Master as a replacement.
At age 8, the Master was taken before the Untempered Schism where he stared into the raw power of the Time Vortex. The constant noise of drumming manifested itself in his mind, and it was said that on that day, Koschei went insane
After the Doctor fled Gallifrey in a stolen TARDIS, Koschei was recruited to find and retrieve him. A Time Lady named Ailla was planted as a spy to keep an eye on Koschei's actions. Posed as a human, she travelled with Koschei when he caught up with the Doctor at the Darkheart colony. There the temptation of the Darkheart as a weapon proved too much for Koschei and the revelation that Ailla was a spy killed the last traces of good in him. Trapped by the Doctor in a black hole, Koschei swore revenge. And thus Koschei was lost, and the Master was born.
The Master eventually escaped the black hole, his insanity had worsened and his need to seek revenge on the Doctor increased ten-fold. He had several altercations with UNIT during this period and every time he was defeated by the Doctor, regardless of his marvellous plans.
The Master eventually disappeared for a number of years. When he resurfaced, he had regenerated into his 13th body. With no more regenerations, stuck in a decaying body and desperate to continue life, the Master lured the Doctor to Gallifrey where he framed him for the assassination of the Lord President. He very nearly succeeded in acquiring the Eye of Harmony and harnessing it's energies to renew himself but was thwarted again and fled in his degenerate form.
Then on the planet Traken, the Master stole the body of Tremas, father of the Doctor's to-be-companion Nyssa, and embarked on a new crusade of villainy. He clashed with the Doctor numerous times, and was bested time after time again, usually by his own need to gloat in the face of his greatest enemy. But he did manage to force the Doctor into regeneration.
Eventually, he was captured and executed by the Daleks as part of a Time Lord- Dalek treaty. His physical form was destroyed but his essence survived as a morphant. The Doctor was to fulfill his 'Last Wish' of his remains being returned to Gallifrey. But instead, the morphant master sabotaged the Doctor's TARDIS, forcing it to land on Earth in 1999. There he took over the body of an ambulance driver named Bruce, and launched a ploy to take the Doctor's remaining regenerations. He failed and fell into the Eye of Harmony, seemingly destroyed for good.
But he was to be resurrected again, this time by his own kind. Believing he would be the perfect warrior in the Time War, the Master was brought back by the Time-Lords. But he fled, terrified of death, to the end of the universe. using a chameleon arch to hide himself, the Master became Professor Yana, and spent years moving from refugee ship to refugee ship with the sounds of drums growing ever louder in his mind.
As Professor Yana, he worked on the Utopia project but could never get the footprint of harmonise. Until the Tenth Doctor, Captain Jack Harkness and Martha Jones turned up out of the blue. With the Doctor's help, the footprint harmonized, allowing the Utopia project to go ahead. But Martha also brought his attention to the small fob-watch he'd owned all his life and never given a second though to. He opened it and Professor Yana ceased to exist, replaced by the Master. He stole the Doctor's TARDIS after being mortally wounded by his dying assistant Chan'tho. The Master regenerated and flew the TARDIS back to 21st Century Earth, the only location it could go with its' locked co-ordinates.
He took the alias of Harold Saxon and launched the Arc Angel Network and successfully hypnotised the people of the world. he rose to power after the fall of Harriet Jones, and became Prime minister within 18 months. He set the stage around himself, introducing the Toclafane to world, on board the Valiant. He successfully captured the Doctor, aging him by suspending the ability to regenerate from old age and then sets about annhilating the world with the Toclafane. Martha escapes form the Valiant, alone.
In the Year That Never Was, the Master reigns over Earth, with his battered and broken wife Lucy at his side. But eventually, Martha is captured after spreading the story of the Doctor around the world and the Master is susequently defeated and time rewinds to the moment of the paradox. The Master seemed doomed to a life as the Doctor's 'pet'. But Lucy Saxon, unexpectedly, shot him. The Master died in the arms of the Doctor with the words "I win."
His body was burned but his ring survived, It was picked up by a member of the Disciples of Saxon, a cult who worshipped the Master. They brought him back to life with a 'potion of life' and an imprint of the Master left on Lucy Saxon. However, Lucy countred the 'potion of life' with a 'potion of death'. The ensuing explosion destroyed everything around but the Master escaped. But his botched ressurection left bizarre side-effects. He became paler, his skin would become transparent, showing the bones beneath, he developed lightning powers but the use of them drained his life-force. Further more, his insanity had worsened. His previous sophisicated personality had degenerated into a borderline animalistic one, with manaical tendancies.

overall personality:
Throughout his regenerations, the Master had retained an aura of evil around himself. His obession with control and hypnotic abilities have also survived. He has a charm about him that often helps to slip away from toublesome situations and this coupled with his hypnotic voice makes him a danegrous person to be near.
His two most vital flaws are his unchecked arrogance and vanity. He often took the time to gloat about his plans, or about how he had so successfully won. By doing so, he often brought about his own defeat, usually at the hands of the Doctor.
Post-Time War, the Master has become childish and spiteful, having fallen into a new level of insanity. Post-regeneration, this insanity worsens, making him a dangerous person. He toyed with the will and lives of others with childish glee and with no regard for the welfare of others. He has no remorse, no pity for those he harms.
He also is in possesion of a sharp wit and a heightened sense of his own brilliance. He likens himself to God, often making biblical-style remarks to emphasise his control.
Post-resurrection, the Master's former sophisticated personlity has all but devolved into an animalistic wildness. He howls, to alert others to his presence and has become fidgety. The drums beat louder than ever in his head, driving what little remnants of his sanity into the dust.[/size]

Socks, books, t-shirts and a whole manner of objects were flung up through the air, landing messily on the floor. His room was messy enough as it was, so a little bit more didn't really matter right? Bart slumped backward amongst his possessions and huffed. His frantic search was going less than well. "Aw, maaan! Where is it?!" he growled, batting a shoe away. Bart had never forgotten his skateboard before. He always had it, just in case he felt like playing around on the ramp he'd built on his first week at Titans Tower. Like he wanted to now.
He sighed in defeat and stood up. It was probably lurking back at the Garrick's house, and lthough he could've run back and gotten it, Jay was at home. So far Bart had been doing a bang-up job of avoiding the older speedster for reasons of his own and going back would risk running into him. So no skateboarding for this speedster.
Deciding to find something else to distract himself, Bart darted out of his room, after kicking the bed for good measure. No one was lurking around the living area, which was kind of weird because there was always people around there. Bart shrugged to himself and zipped away again. Finding something to do was a little bit more difficult when he was sans skateboard. Although the Tower had plenty of sporting facilities. The speedster brightened almost immediately and made a turn for the Basketball Court.
But someone was already there. He paused, watching the ball bounce off the ring and roll away before it was scooped up by numerous small rocks carrying the ball back to the raven-haired Terra. Bart grinned slightly. She looked really frustrated with the little orange ball, perhaps a vendetta was starting to bloom. As she took a shot, scoring this time, Bart trotted forwards. "Two's better than nothing", he chirped, smiling cheerily at Atlee. "Having fun?"
She turned to him, a look of surprise blossoming on her face. Oh, of course. Bart metally clicked his fingers. She hadn't met him properly before now, no wonder she was staring at him like he had just dribbled on his shirt.
With a fleeting glance to make sure he hadn't dribbled on his shirt or something, Bart made his grin even more open and friendly. "I'm Bart, by the way." Her eyes seemed to narrow in confusion and wary apprehension of him. He supposed there was reason, she was new, he was that crazy kid who'd grown up in a virtual reality and essentially accepted nearly every person he met as a friend. Go figure.
"I don't bite!" he chuckled, rocking back and forth on his heels. Her expression relaxed somewhat, a small giggle rising from her mouth. Bart beamed at her happily, hands still stuffed carelessly in his pockets.
