name , Aeris - Dae

age & date of birth , 29 human years, and 304 Lyran - Re years. Earth date: 22nd August. Lyran Date: 4th Sun 971
gender , Female
sexual orientation , Straight
species , Alien; Lyran - Re - A seemingly advanced race of technologists, who adopt an artificial intellence statue and structure. With the exterior of the human, and an interior filled with both vital organs and robotic curcuits, she is considered as alien, not as a robot or cyborg. They are able to create, communicate and use technology at ease, which connects by electric waves through special signals throughout their body. However, they fail to adopt he emotional range of a human, and so only display simple emotions like happiness, thoughfulness, and they are rarely ever wracked with grief, depression and even sadness.

height , 5'10
weight , 70 kgs, to accomodate her internal structure
tattoos and piercings , A small red tattoo of three inter-connected stars, symbolising her race.
physical flaws , Unable to fully adapt to a human emotional range, therefore she rarely suffers that of sadness and rage.
personal style , Aeris stands tall, who adopts a model-like frame. This is just the standard size for a female Lyran. She is basically human all over, in terms of looks and even adopting the same mental emotional states. Dispite this, she is in no way a robot. She has skin like that of a human, so by looks, she blends in quite well. She had short wavy blonde hair, which is always worn down. She dresses rather sophisticated, and on some occasions, a little to glamorous. Most of the times she is seen wearing a simple dress, or maybe a skirt and a tank top.
Under her skin, is a thin sheet of metal which enables her to send signals to other pieces of technology and communication devices. They are fit with miscroscopic wires, which is linked to the nerves in her body. This is so that she can control what she can do, via brain waves. The metal, is more like a protective plate used to reinforce her inner structure of a combination of vital organs and metal wires all linked internally. Perhaps an x-ray can reveal her internal structures, so basically no-one can see them otherwise. She also has a few faint scars around her body, where the wires get tweaked every so often in her life. Unfortunualy, she is prone to defects now that she is away from her homeworld.
Inside Torchwood, they know her as Aeris-Dae. Outside into the real world, she is known as Gabrielle Winters, in order to blend in. She hates wearing jewellery, but mainly goes as far of small studded earings, or just a watch.

overall personality , Aeris is quite a straightforward woman, and is not afraid to say something directly to someone even if it is the truth. Sometimes it can come of a bit harsh, but frankly, she could not care less. She is rather intellegent, given her species, so she tends to speak in technological and computer babble, but this also shows her skill to process statistics upon nearly any situation. This tends to annoy some people, but she see's it as a way to save lives. Although, she also finds it amusing to see someone's reaction to it. Usually in the time of war, she tries to calculate chances of success, death and danger, which proves handy.
She also has a rather dark quality about her, also her intentions are never evil, but some tend to think of her that way given her alien nature, so she comes off as a bit mysterious since she is never emotional, or displays the weaker side to her. She is however, willing to sacrifice lives to help save the human race, if the need arises. She does not hesitate at the sight of those who are injured, since she grew up on a planet which constantly creates more destructive devices used for protection and war, yet she fears death itself. This points to the fact many misjudge her and where her loyalties lie. Most of the time she is serious, but adopts a dark wit to relieve the tension. She does not enjoy working in a team, but for her to achieve her goals, she must learn to deal with it.
Other times she is compassionate and witty, and never hesitates to lend a hand, despite crude remarks. In her life on Earth, many misjudge her and her capabilities, but she tries her best to ignore them continue with her work. She does not have a sad side, since Lyran's were born to be mentally strong, in order to avoid mental breakdowns and malfunctions.

history ,
Among her youth in the somewhat dull, greyed planet of Elorias-Ve, Aeris believed that there was more in the universe. Strong-willed and adventurous, she did not want to work as a slave, creating newer means of space-travel and communication devices. She wanted to be free from the requirments of a Lyran, so she began to plan a device that would send her anywhere in the universe. As a child, she did not have any friends, since she figured it would be more difficult to leave her home that way.
During her adult years, she began to polish-up her new piece of technology, which would enable to teleport herself anywhere in the universe. Then disaster struck. There was an invasion upon her homeworld, all without warning. That's when she decided to use the device, which had not even been tested fully yet. She gathered mental statistics and the porbablities of the situation, so she took her chances and escaped the devistation of her homeworld.
But something happened to the device. Something intercepted with the electro-magnetic waves which enabled the device to work as it should. It seems she was taken to Earth - a planet on the other side of the universe, so she was not prepared. However, it was not where she wanted to be. So she aimed for somewhere else, but unfortunatly, the device died and she became stranded on the planet. She tried to repair it, but something or someone was preventing her from doing so. Now, she does not know if her own planet still exists, but now tries to make a new life for herself. While trying to recreate the device, which took several years to complete.
On the side, and upon hearing about the infamous Torchwood, she decides to join Torchwood 3 as their Technology Expert and use her abilities to make a difference, however only her collegues know exactly who and what she is.

After the incident at the House of Erebus, Selene had more than enough small-talk with the lycan. After he fled into the night, she felt the urge to follow the creature, desperate to know where the mutt hid himself. Eventually, she found his resting place along with a few other lycans. She watched from the darkness of the night, listening to their conversations. It seems, they had a plan.
Like most of the vampires she knew, there were rumors of a large blood supply somewhere in the city. Knowing that very few vampires sought out blood from the mortals directly, she was more than curious to take a look. She was one of those vampires. She did not like the idea of murdering humans just for a feed. That, she conluded, was a savage act. Although she fought rather brutally against her enemies, she did not want to harm humans each and every day for selfish pursposes. It was just not like her.
During so early in the night, she figured she seek out that location, which she luckily caught the exact location from. The lycans had a planned attack. She just new it. They would aim to destroy that supply, so the vampires in the region were forced to murder. She would not let such a thing happen.
She began on ground floor, dismissing the idea of travelling by rooftop. She figured the supply would not be located so far up, so more likely it was stored in the basement. Quietly and silently, she went through a window around a back-alley entrance. It was awefully quiet for an early night. She heard the distance sound of traffic on the roads, but other than that, it was eerily silent.
She found herself in a long, narrow corridor with many rooms branching off to the side. She took a few moments to take in the smells that filled the corridors. Blood. And lots of it. But there was something else in the air too...another scent, but she could not quite understand it. It seemed like another vampire, but it was not the usual vampire scent she was used too. Straining her ears to pick up any movement, she noticed a quiet hum of machinery nearby. Taking quiet steps foward, she turned the corner to find the elevator within her view. Taking it would be too noisy, and would more likely alert a creature she had no desire to see. So, she took the stairs.
Drawing out her two pistols, she slowly made her way down. The scent was stronger, and it only made her more curious to find out what it was. It did not seem like a vampire, yet it was no lycan. What on earth could it be?
