"Oh well, never mind then. Look if your not gonna eat those I will."
Quinn gently pushed her tray toward him so that he could eat the 'chips'. She looked out the window for a moment, noting the passersby. People walking together, conversing in a common tongue. She hesitated, then looked back at the Doctor.
"Do you think she is mad at me? I didn't mean to yell." She squirmed in her seat like an anxious child expecting to be told off.

Without a word he took the chips and ate them. When he was done he tossed his trash in the closest trash can licking his lips. He watched his new friend with a newly formed curiosity. She was interesting, that was to be for sure. The Doctor rocked on his feet watching people in their natural habitat. He liked watching people. They were one of his favorite species asides from the extinct Dodo and Fubble. A sigh fell sadly across his lips as he thought about the Fubble. He used to have one under his bed when he was at school. The Doctor used to keep her in a box and almost had her discovered when she was female and in heat.
Those were the days.
Another sigh before he looked up at the alien female next to him."Hmm?" His eyes wandered as he was lost within his own thoughts. Her words registered in his brain and then he thought in silence for a while before finally replying, "Well maybe irritated. I tend to yell at her all the time, but then again we have a bond so.... I really wouldn't know."[/blockquote]

"Well maybe irritated. I tend to yell at her all the time, but then again we have a bond so.... I really wouldn't know."
That was hardly comforting for Quinn. Still, her gaze returned to the window; she liked the way the glass screened her and one of the people passing by even bothered to look her direction. If she bothered to look inward at the restaurant she would would be afraid someone would feel her gaze and look back at her, and she knew she wouldn't be able to hold herself together. Even now she could feel her leg closest to the window slowly disappearing. She pulled her other leg in closer to the booth so maybe it might look like her leg was hidden behind the other.
"I had been expecting someone else." she admitted. Of course, this fellow probably already knew. Sarcenets didn't often come out of the vortex other than to give birth or for their hatchlings to return from their mortal shells. She was an oddball, a big sea turtle out on the beach in the wrong season. And on Earth of all places- that was like the sea turtle was in Antarctica. There was no reason for a Sarcenet to give birth here- that would be like leaving a hatchling to die. Humans were improper, they didn't live long enough for a hatchling to mature. ::I will wander this Earth until I die:: she thought somberly, not realizing she was transmitting.

He shrugged and looked at her think. The Doctor grew bored and realized he probably was late meeting Donna or Rose. He began turning on his feet and uttering a goodbye to the woman before he stopped dead in his tracks knowing his commitment to helping.
"Oh, let me help. I'm awful good at looking. Who are you looking for? I'll take a looksy on my way to catch up with Donna and Rose." he told her grinning hoping she would pick up onto his contagious smile. Sometimes it worked, well for the most part it did anyways. "Don't think things like that. Don't really don't. Promise me you won't. I'll make things better, promise I will. I'm the Doctor and that's what I do best." [/blockquote]

"Oh, let me help. I'm awful good at looking. Who are you looking for? I'll take a looksy on my way to catch up with Donna and Rose."
Maybe she was wrong. Maybe he didn't know what she was afterall. She had nudged herself into believing for a moment that he did, that he could help her. But from his cheery tones seemed to imply that she was a common occurrence, just another alien on this little floating rock.
"Don't think things like that. Don't really don't. Promise me you won't. I'll make things better, promise I will. I'm the Doctor and that's what I do best."
Quinn shook her head and looked down at the table. "I don't think you can."
"Hey!" a heavy set man came towards their table. Quinn panicked, and in a moment her shape was completely gone as the glitter of a sunbeam swept across the floor and out underneath the door. ::Trap.:: her mind whispered. ::TrapTrapTrap...::
The heavy set man blinked at the empty seat. "Was that... Where did she..?" He couldn't seem to make a proper sentence, as if his brain had become a broken record. He had only come over to ask if he could have their table now that they were finished. He looked at the wiry man still sitting there and blinked like a goldfish, hoping he could offer some answer for this situation.
