height , 5 ft 11 inches
weight , Not sure, hasn‘t weighted himself
tattoos and piercings , He doesn’t believe in body art. Not to say he doesn’t appreciate it on someone else.
physical flaws , He has a scar on his right eyebrow. He got it during an incident in a bar. He didn’t know she had a boyfriend. Honestly. Besides, who would have thought that a tentacle could do that sort of damage.
personal style , He wears what he likes. He happens to like a Napoleonic jacket and ancient Italian boots. He’s definitely an original. He collects things off of the people he fights. More like the bodies he leaves behind. His gun holsters were taken from a battle he fought in the American Old West and his sword is from a man he killed in Korea.
His style is 'Collector'. Each piece reminds him of that moment. He considers it to be better than a scrapbook.

overall personality , John is not always honest. All right, he’s rarely honest and is usually looking out for himself. But he isn’t completely cold. He will bend over backwards for Jack, if asked. But, to bend over backwards, he may have to kill a few people, destroy most of a major city and possibly get Jack killed three or seven times in the process. But in the end, in his mind, he’d done good.
He has a love/hate with Torchwood Three. Honestly, he could care less about any other agencies and/or individuals unless they can help him bring in a profit. But, if a gun were at his head, he’d help Torchwood Three, for Jack’s sake.
John wouldn't win the humanitarian award, but if you could be considered a humanitarian for your prowess, then he is there. He loves sex, all aspects, positions, flavours, it is all good to him. He appreciates beauty in everything he sees and yet he sees beauty in destruction and war. He understands that peace is beautiful but war is a perfectly honorable means to an ends.
By no means, is he noble. He will literally stab you in the back if it will help his cause.
His idea of right and wrong is skewed. He wants to try, sometimes. But it is usually much easier to give in and go for what he knows, kill first, raid their pockets for loose change and then ask questions. He will run a scam in a heartbeat, if in his mind, it is for a good cause. Himself

history ,
John was found as a small child. The Time Agency had finally come to help the small science colony called Gauth on Beta 9. They had been told that there was a problem with the locals attacking the scientists and when the finally got there the colony was destroyed. It had been gone for at least 6 years.
All that had remained were a small group of children, led by a rather wild eyed little 8 year old. The Time Agency later learned that the Gauth colony was experimenting in a new form of test-tube conception. The Gauth had eliminated the need for sex and all their children were made, in a factory. The small boy was a prime case of nature vs. nurture. When the locals had attacked, a warlike, animalistic breed called the Ko’ra, the had destroyed all they found but had left a group of babies behind believing they were abominations and would die on their own anyway. They didn’t take into consideration the advanced intelligence of the infants and toddlers and the little ones managed to survive.
When John was brought before the Time Agency, he was also animalistic. He feared the Agents because they were tall and he thought they would hurt him the same as the Ko’ra had destroyed their world. He hadn’t been the oldest survivor, but he was the one who had outlived the others. He had taken care of so many of the younger children that they all turned to him as the oldest were killed.
The Time Agency tried to fix him. They knew he must have a gift if he could survive from the age of 2 to the age of 8 and so they placed him with a family that taught him all he needed to know about being a Time Agent.
John doesn’t like to think of those years, the ones before the Agency saved him. He hates to remember the fear he had, the hunger he felt and the loneliness. Though, even now, the loneliness creeps in and threatens to smother him. They called him a hero and he hated that word. He didn’t believe in heroes, he believed in survival and doing everything to stay alive.
His foster parents had their hands full. He had lived his childhood based on his own rules and couldn’t understand the need for anyone else’s. He was constantly pushing his boundaries and constantly questioning authority. His foster parents couldn’t handle him. He was devilishly intelligent and quick as a whip, but his morbid curiosity confused and frightened the young couple. John would invent games to play, or so the parents thought they were games. It would turn out that John was setting up defensive strategies for a ‘just in case’ scenario. He would steal utensils and create weapons. He stole food and stockpiled it. He wouldn’t accept affection from his foster parents and rarely played with the other children.
One day, while sitting in a park, his mother heard him talking to himself. He would point at the other children playing and say, “Food…shield…soldier…shield…soldier…food…” She asked him what he was saying and, with those bright blue eyes, stated that he was only trying to figure out who would be useful in an attack and who they could use as a shield and who would get eaten by the enemy.
That was the last straw for his foster parents. Out of fear they returned him to the Agency. He was placed in temporary care within the Agency. He was 10 years old.
He spent the rest of his childhood around Time Agents. Most barely paid attention to him, some thought he was fun to play with once in a while. Then there was Cormack.
Patrick Cormack was a survivor of the Maegallan Wars. He took John under his wing an taught him everything he knew when John was fourteen. Unfortunately, Cormack was not a good man and all he knew only perpetuated John’s outlook on life. Cormack gave John his guerrilla skills and his love of a big explosion. He also took him to all the sleazy bars in the universe and exposed John to the more carnal tastes in life. When John graduated and became a full Time Agent, he became Cormack’s partner, in every sense.
The only time John can remember crying was the day Cormack was killed. He never knew what happened to the man, all he knew was that the Agency told him that Cormack was killed in the line of duty. John mourned and a month later, when he turned twenty, he was assigned to a new partner, Jack Harkness. Well, they didn’t go by those names then, but none of that matters anymore.
John was instantly enamoured with Jack. Jack was tall and handsome and cocky and, dear Lord did he want that man. Cormack was still in the back of his mind, but he also knew that Cormack wouldn’t have mourned his life away over John. John went after Jack and when they were stuck in that time loop, he got him. Oh yes, it was only for a short time but John fell for Jack and no one could ever compare in his world. Even his memories of Cormack were forgotten in the face of Jack. When they parted, John swore he would find Jack and make him see that they were meant to be together.
Jack and John had been involved in a rather large controversy at the Agency. It was so bad that they took two years of Jack’s memories and split the pair up. Jack disappeared shortly after and John vowed to find him and give him back his memories.
There had been an administrator for the Agency, a man by the name of Sean Wesson. He was a wealthy man and everyone knew he had connections. John and Jack had stumbled onto the truth of Wesson’s fortune. He was sending his ‘goon’ to pull people out of their timelines. He would use them for information and make money off of it. The people would then be murdered. In their time, they’d just disappeared. That way, they couldn’t inform the Agency in the future to go back and arrest Wesson in the past. It would have worked beautifully if they hadn’t asked John to be part of the group. He was ruthless and normally this was right up his alley. He immediately thought of Jack and how they could be renegade Time Agents together, working for Wesson and living the high-life.
What he didn’t take into consideration was that Jack had a conscience.
John went to Jack, told him everything he knew on Wesson. He was so excited, thinking that this was their big break into being highly successful Time Agents, but Jack turned him down. Then he turned on him. He pointed out how even though the occasional con wasn’t bad, that killing innocent people for profit was horrid and he was going to take down Wesson and his group.
John couldn’t stop him. Jack stood up to Wesson, brought in some of the other Agents and there was a trial. Wesson paid off the judges and it was all turned around onto Jack. Jack was arrested for treason and falsely accusing a member of the Agency and he had the past two years of his life taken from him. John had hid in the background and died when Jack was taken. They had been together that whole time, John was so happy to have Jack and now, due to his own stupidity, Jack was taken from him. Jack wouldn’t remember the relationship they had. He would only remember being stuck in the time-loop and once more John was left to mourn.
It was years later that he found Grey. Years that he had spent trying to find Jack and help him get back his memories. Unfortunately, his anger and pain turned to betrayal and he used this to hurt Jack when he finally found him in Cardiff. Yet, Jack gave him a chance to be free and John took that opportunity. If he had known that Grey would use the information of Jack’s location to destroy Jack, he would have left Grey were he was. In his attempts to get back into Jack’s good graces, he only managed to cause more damage. He lost Jack and will never have him again.
Now, he walks the world, trying to learn why Jack loves this place so much. He wants to know because, now that Grey is gone and he is free, again, he wants to show Jack that he can be better. He wants to show that he isn’t beyond redemption and that he can be good.
It is just hard to be good all the time. Besides, it is surely more fun to be bad and he will still do anything to survive.

roleplay sample ,
John yawned, stretched, reached for his gun, all in one swift movement as he awoke from his nap. Well, if you could call it a nap. Some would call it getting shit-faced and passing out in an abandoned warehouse in the middle of Cardiff. He didn’t care either way because he was now awake and he wasn’t really happy about it. Something, some sound, had awoken him.
He rolled up onto his feet, gun out before him as he glanced down to read his wristband. “Oh, for fuck sake!” he exclaimed, as a Weevil came charging at him out of no where. He shot it in the head and it fell to his feet. “Bloody vermin,” he spat, tucking his gun into his holster. “Need to have this place sprayed or something. Maybe I’ll call Jack and his Eye-candy to come and tend to this.” He narrowed his eyes at the thought of Jack’s boy-toy.
Jones was a thorn in his side. He wouldn’t mind having a piece of the Welshman, but Jack was too proprietary about the twat. He knew Jack, or thought he had known the man, enough to think that this would never last. Nothing lasted with Jack. He was proof of that.
It actually disgusted him to think that the former Time Agent had gotten to him the way he had. John never used to get attached to anyone and yet bloody Harkness had not only gotten to him, but was like a drug that he couldn’t get enough of. And now, Jack wouldn’t even give him the time of day. But John had plans. He’d get back into Jack’s good graces if it killed him. It would definitely kill someone, he just hadn’t yet decided on who.
Looking around, he checked to make sure he had all his weapons. His sword lay on the ground near where he had been sleeping. He picked it up and tucked it away, turning a slow circle to take in his environment. He always seemed to pick out the best warehouses to pass out in. This one he happened to own. It had large wooden boxes, a dirty floor with leaves and debris everywhere. Along the wall a metal stair led to a door about halfway up the wall. He stretched again and climbed the stair and entered the door.
Inside was an office. A bit dusty, disorganized and dark, but it was an office. John walked over to the desk and sat on the dust coated edge of it. He felt a smirk curl his lips as he surveyed the room. He’d purchased this office a few days ago, after going back in time and buying it from some old bloke named, funnily enough, Jones.
“Oh, this will do. This will do perfectly,” he said, standing up and kicking the papers that were strewn about. He turned and caught the ass print he had left in the dust on the desk. He walked over to it and admired it for a moment. With a broad smile he absently wiped the dust off his bum and pulled a chair up to the piece of furniture. He sat down and put his feet up onto the desk. This would be his home until the time came when he had destroyed everything Jack thought he loved just to show him that he, John Hart, was all the immortal man needed.
