PERSONALITY • Nate is a loner by nature, his whole life there never really been anyone close to him. One thing he doesn't know how to do is reach out for help. Help has never been something he takes kindly to or nows how to ask for. He is a leader, a man of great principle, honor, and courage. Personifying dignity and conviction and most of all passion are some of his strongest traits. He is a complicated man, disciplined, direct, and well read, with a dry sense of humor. He is snarky and insubordinate at times, but has a fierce personal loyalty to those he respects.
Probably born with, and at very least was developing into, an `observer' type personality. He is a remarkably observant person, always scrutinizing both others and the environments into which he is placed. This `observer' type personality was developed and heightened by all the training and testing done on him. He finds ordinary, menial jobs a boring waste of his time. He has an objective and anything that distracts or detracts him from this mission is an annoyance.
His intuition, however, is his greatest asset. This insight, along with his intense intellectual comprehension yield amazing results. His solutions to even the most complex of problems are stunningly original and often times somewhat visionary. Nate has an innocent curiosity that when combined with his intellectual depth yields a character that is astoundingly fascinating. He has a vast array of knowledge, which helps him to piece together ideas that would not often be associated with each other.
He is courageous; he fearlessly charges into dangerous situations, leaving little time to think of his own well being. This means he tends to be a bit reckless, putting other people's well being above his own. Nate’s apprehension over being controlled or losing loved ones allows him to labor diligently to understand his environment without developing any emotional ties. This awareness of his surroundings allows him to foresee any possible threats against which he would be able to protect. He is a private man who likes to keep all of his secrets to himself. To be taken into Nate's confidence is the ultimate expression of love and trust for him. His biggest fear is abandonment, which keeps him from falling in love or even entering relationships.
Nate, for the most part, lives a secluded life. He has an intense attraction to the human experience. Birth and death intrigue him; tragedy and crisis captivate him. He is interested in the dark side of the human spirit, which leaves him open to attacks on his taste. He is often considered to have bad taste because of his aesthetic appreciation for the unexpected, odd, or overlooked parts of beauty. His eye perceives strange things as beautiful. Anything spooky, creepy, or paranormal fascinate.

HISTORY •The year was 2003 when the plan that had been in works for a while took to place. When Captain Jack Harkness was held in the cell coming back from nothing but a few remains. They took various samples from him which they needed for their plan. A lab full of doctors, scientist and lab techs worked on what they were calling Project Stronghold. Those samples taken from Jack and an alien humanoid were used in creating life inside a test tube. The cells which would be life one day, was placed inside a female until she gave birth to the small male child. Then he was placed in a contentment chamber in which he had a tube inserted into the back of neck which would supply him with various drugs also created from the same samples in order to increase the chances of him having certain ‘gifts’.
The drugs also increased the child’s growth and by the time a month passed the child was a full grown teenager and the following month he was technically twenty years old. It was that time in which the removed the subject from the contentment chamber and go him ready for life living outside the liquid of the chamber. The dress the what they were calling Hawk into a simple tee shirt and scrub pants before he was tossed into a holding cell. The next year was spending teaching and training him to be a soldier for UNIT. They also continued to inject him with drugs and test him to see if he had any of those ‘gifts’ they were looking for. Even though he was treated badly, he refused to do as they ordered half of the time.
However that was ignored because he showed signs of being able to recover from injuries as well showing a different type of an internal structure on the inside. After being treating badly and force to train as a soldier, Hawk escaped when those guarding let down their guards after there was an explosion in the lab. Killing the two soldiers, Hawk took the one’s clothes and gear and slipped out with no one knowing of it until it came time to run their next set of test. With nowhere to go and no one to turn to he ditched the uniform after he stole some clothes from a nearby store.
Without the drugs running through his system or them testing various things on him, Hawk fell ill while hiding among some homeless in the city. It took a few weeks before he recovered and start to figure out what was next to do. In his possession was a file on the project in which he study and figured he would track down this Captain Jack Harkness even though he knew those who created him would be tracking him down and trying capture him.
It took him about month to track down the second to last Tochwood Unit but in doing so, he was captured by Torchwood London and held as their prisoner when they noticed he no longer carried the two bullet wounds in which they inflected upon him after they shot him while he was hacking into their system. It was there that he was held and tortured as they sought out answers to who and what he was. There he was held almost five years before things would break apart again and this time it would sent him to another place and time.
The Gortux attacked earth and during the bombings that hit London, one of them reacted to a piece of alien tech that was being studying by the Torchwood London Group. Being the close to it in his cell, it flung him through a rift that spat him out in 2010 in another reality in which he didn't exist nor did the technology that created him. Weak and wounded from being held as a prisoner for all those years and the poor care they gave him. He passed out by the docks and that is where his story picks up.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE •Peter had moved over to the table with the plate of waffles, sitting it down before moving back to the tea. He poured some honey into the cup and stired it. Unlike the Doctor, he wasn't that active in the morning nor the kind of person to bounce around all that much. His life that he had led up to the the point he had meant the Doctor caused him to be a resevered and quiet man. However, he was starting to open and live more. There were moments when he acted and felt like a child and he knew that the longer he would be here, the more he would change. It wasn't that he minded the change in fact he welcomed it with open arms.
First he found himself more open though it only be with the Doctor and the TARDIS but when they had another traveler with them, he found himself talking and sharing more than he would normally. Then there was the need for adventure and excitment but also he wanted to make a difference to try and do the best he could to save a life. Back home as a cop, it was often too late for him to save anyone only to stop them from hurting someone else. Besides all that, he found himself longer and wanting to see more beyond what was waiting for them around the corner.
Peter picked up the fork and cut into the waffles, taking a bit as listened to the ship telling him that the Doctor would be coming soon. He thanked the ship before drinking some of the tea. When it came down to the Doctor, there where things that puzzled him and he wondered how he was able to pull of such things. Like the time, he basically cured himself after someone tried to slip himself some poison. That was a interesting twist to the dinner and he was sure that they scared the kitchen staff. The one of the cooks pulled him aside and asked him how the Doctor knew how to cure Vertek Berry Posion and all Peter found himself able to do was shrug his shoulders and tell the man that it was the wonder that was the Doctor.
There was little that shocked Peter anymore but the wonder and excitment of seeing something new replaced all that of that. He was just about to take another bite of his waffles when he heard the Aha! coming from behind him. He turned his head and stood up, there was a smile already across hips lips. "Think you had a little help from someone that or I've taken one too many swims in the morning then come here for breakfast." He wondered if he was becoming to easy to prediect but he shrugged that off. After all the Doctor usually knew everything about what was going on around him.
Peter chuckled a tiny bit as he watched the Doctor pull out the peanut butter and jelly sandwhich. "Always makes me wonder if the simple comforts such as PB and J spend across time and space or if you have been spending too much time with the human race." He moved to throw away what remain of the waffles and tea having found himself no longer hungry. Peter never ate all that much at once. Bites here and there. There was a slight tilt of his head when he heardt he Doctor talk about having something for him. "Is that so? Should I be worried?" He grinned, playing around.
He looked up at the TARDIS' celling before looking at the Doctor. "No harm in spoiling those who you care about. I'm sure at some point, I will be repaying the Doctor with a gift. After all, he has done so much for me in such a short time.." He looked over at the box then back over at the Doctor offering another smile before moving to open the box. He reached in and slowly pulled out each of the items, studying them for a moment. His face really grew brighter when he picked up the key to the TARDIS and the shoes. He stood there studying and moving the cricket bat for a moment or two. When he picked up the Sonic, he looked over at the Doctor. "Is this what I think it is?" There was one of those rare fully blown smiles across his face.
He looked back down at all the items and the box. "Leave it to you to find a gift box that was bigger on the inside." He laughed a little before walking over to the Doctor and doing something he had never done before with anyone. He wrapped his arms around the Doctor and gave him a hug. "I really don't know what to say other than thank you so much. All of this is so much and so great, wonderful. And I really needed a new pair of a shoes. The other ones were starting to wear down from all the running."
