height , 5 feet 7 inches
weight , 145
tattoos and piercings , ear piercings (2 in each ear), bear claw mark on right shoulder blade
physical flaws , big ears, large canine teeth, he has small hands and narrow fingers which are usually called “artistic” hands, which was true since Jax is very artistic.
personal style , Jax’s style tends towards the casual – in all weather. He doesn’t seem to mind the cold in the least, which is why he can be found wearing little more than a simple t-shirt and a pair of knee length shorts; though he does have enough sense to put on thicker, warmer clothes when winter DOES rolls around. Jax likes to wear anything that catches his eye, so skirts, shorts, tanks, tube-tops and everything else not mentioned are fair game. He doesn’t seem to mind the looks people give him when he decides to wear his favorite skirt to a formal party, after all, what is their judgment to his own? So, basically, Jax doesn’t have a “style” just his favorite set of clothes on for the day.

human
Bold and adventurous, Jax loves adventure and action. He adores his two dogs and winter. Unfortunately it really doesn’t get cold enough for him to go into full hibernation. He’s just a fun loving guy who enjoys doing whatever he feels like doing. Jax is extremely slow to anger, but there are some things that set him off – and when he does he usually finds himself stronger than before and his canines enlargened and ready to bite. Usually the only thing to send him into a flurry of anger is if he seems an animal being abused in some way.
Jax’s fault is that he really does care too much. He’s terrified of making emotion bonds (with humans) because he’s seem all the movies, and people do NOT look happy when the “love of their life” walks out on them. He’s scared of that pain, and doesn’t want to feel it, which is why he tends to never go out on dates unless he’s set up by a friend. He doesn’t mind hanging out or even screwing around, but he wants no emotional attachment. Though around early/late spring he tends to be utterly unreasonable and constantly pissed off by the world. He gets over it.
Usually a cheerful and up beat person, Jax enjoys taking things chill and in stride. He never over reaches himself (unless it’s for an animal). He doesn’t know exactly what he wants to be here in Cardiff, but he does know he wants to work with animals (and not in the zoo). So when he finds something he’ll go after it.
bear
He’s extremely laid back as a bear, nothing seems to startle him and he exists only for swimming in the ocean or wrestling (gently) with Ruth and Uhaku. Though slow to anger, if he does get angry it takes him a while to get over it, and he has to remain a bear until he gets his emotions back under control. Other than that he’s very “bear” like, does all the things you’d expect a bear to do. Well, a bear with a human mind and soul, to do. During the really cold days of winter he sleeps curled up in his room asleep on his bed; hibernating.

-tiny tot-
Born on a cold, dark June day in approximately the middle of the week, was young Jason Jaxom Holder. Why the name? His parents are both avid Anne McCaffery readers and given their last name, they decided to name their only child after the Lord Holder Jaxom, rider of the white Dragon Ruth. Naturally they decided to call the odd child “Jaxom”. He wasn’t a very loud child, he’d mew, complain, but over all he was a very silent child. He didn’t seem to enjoy waking his parents up at all hours of the night, often sleeping straight through them. He also never seemed to mind the harsh cold of Alaska the way other white babies did. He actually seemed to enjoy the cold, crawling towards open windows and doors to stick his head out and sit there. This is course caused him to get sick several times. Jaxie was also raised with a litter of sled dog pups, so he became very attached to them.
-little brat-
He started walking and talking almost as soon as he could. He was a very observant child, often he’d follow his father around when the man went on his rounds to tend to the kennel dogs they had. When he wasn’t doing following his father, he was in a pile with the four puppies from the dog sled litter. Often times he’d howl and yip with them, he’d tussle roughly with them until his mother stepped in to stop their play from getting serious. As Jax grew up, he took and avid interest with his father’s line of work, and he helped to train the sled puppies that he’d been raised alongside of (they were unruly, but not impossible). His greatest dream at this age was to become a Musher like his Father—so he helped out in any way he could.
-short teen-
Unlike a few teens who grew apart from his parents, Jax stayed with them well up until he was twenty five. He was busy training with his father to compete in the Iditarod Dog Race when he was 22. So during his teen years his father allowed him to pick the ones he wanted from all the litters of their dogs and “raise” his team to be the best. His father never once stepped in on their training. Eventually Jax had a team of twelve dogs, each one he knew very well, and each knew him to be the alpha. His head dog, a cinnamon husky by the name of Kablu was his favorite. Though young, the dog had incredible spirit and alpha characteristics, earning him the lead dog position without question.
-semiadult-
As a young adult Jaxom participated in the Iditarod Dog Race with his team fully prepared. Though they didn’t finish first, they DID finish the race without a single casualty. Proud of himself, he realized that he didn’t want to compete in the race again and retired to help his father raise and train sled dogs. He still trained his team, and even bred his beloved Kablu to his father’s best female and produced champion puppies, including his (so he thought) soul mate Uhaku. This little red pup was exactly like his father, bold, confident and utterly devoted to Jaxom.
-adult-
Jaxom decided at the age of 28 that he wanted to move away from Alaska, see the world a little bit. He got as far as Wales, and settled down in Cardiff with Uhaku. They settled on the outskirts near the ocean which allowed Jax the space he needed to be able to transform comfortably into his bear self and run around. He never forgot himself in animal form and therefore never hurt anyone (though he did scare quite a few people when he popped up on the beach). About two years after he’d moved to Cardiff, he stumbled on an add in the paper for white shepard pups. Curious and a fan of the breed he reserved a strong looking male pup whom he named “Ruth” after the white dragon his namesake was bonded to. Though intelligent, the male pup was unruly and was often getting into minor scraps with Uhaku who put him in his place without seriously harming the puppy.
-current-
Ruth’s training is finally coming along really well. The puppy has settled into a responsible dog. Jaxie is enjoy Cardiff, though he has been noticing very odd things happening around the town lately. And his control over his transformation seems to be slipping. Often he’ll be walking, and suddenly he’ll transform. Of course now Jax is freaked out because he’s never changed against his will before. He suspects that it has something to do with the town, but what it is he hasn’t the faintest idea.
[bear]
When he was ten, Jax stumbled upon his heritage. While both his parents carried the alien gene for shape shifting (into one animal) only 1 in 100,000,000 were actually able to transform into an animal. Jax had been taking his team for a routine run when they’d slid on a patch of ice and the sled had tipped over. Jax had thrown himself clear, but the dogs had kept running towards him. A very unhappy ten year old Jaxom had gotten to his feet and then looked over his shoulder at a white blob of fur; it was a small polar bear cub. Without a second though to the danger he went over towards the cub who was just as curious. The change happened without Jax realizing it. He’d started to play with the cub when slowly his height changed, his nose became sharper – he’d transformed into a polar bear.
Since he didn’t have any idea that he’d changed, he’d bound home to his house and pushed the door open after causing the kennel to go crazy. He’d entered his home and met his very surprised parents. They’d panicked, he’d panicked – it was chaotic. The fear transformed him back to his human form, and his parents were even more startled. They called their relatives and tried to trace back where the gene had come from (the records were lost after their great, great, great, great, great grandfather). Some of the family had been able to transform before, so his parents eventually settled down. Instead of repressing the bear, they encouraged him to learn how to use both forms. So he started to swim, hunt and pretty soon his personality became more “bear” like.
