If I could stop the world, And help you, I would “Ruth, heel!” The command rang out sharply as a white shepard suddenly broke away from a male’s side. There was a muttered curse as the male looked down at a cinnamon husky who looked back up at him with attentive, devoted eyes. “Fetch him back Uhaku.” The male said without a trace of the British accent you’d expect of someone in Cardiff. Immediately that screamed out foreigner, which he was. Alaskan to be precise, American to be general. The male was handsome, short, and looked to be a touch mad, given the way he wore a pair of shorts. His blue eyes tracked the dull red blur of his most trusted companion as it split after the goofy white blob of fur. He watched the lean, muscular body that spoke of well worked power float almost effortlessly over the powder snow that covered the ground. His stubbly face smiled as Uhaku caught up with his rouge Ruth and tackled the lanky white mongrel to the ground and pin him. He watched as Uhaku grabbed a hold of the collar fixed firmly on the pup’s neck and started to drag him back to Jax’s side. If I could start the music, And comfort you, I would Jason Jaxom Holder watched in utter amusement as his trusty companion of seven years dragged the unruly (but learning) white pup of two years back over to where he stood. Jaxom crouched down and made welcoming arms to the dogs as they walked back. Ruth had his ears back apologetically on his head, white Uhaku’s ears were perked forward towards Jax and his tail was wagging merrily. Jax smiled and ruffled both of the dog’s heads. It wasn’t good trainer skills to discipline an animal when it came back to you. And that was something that Jaxie took to heart easily, he stroked the soft ears of both the animals and cooed to them an Alaskan song. Ruth’s tail thumped happily on the ground as Jax grabbed his collar and connected it back to the leash he’d had the dog on in the first place. With a charming grin he rubbed the dog’s ears and praised Uhaku. The confident animal sat up a little straighter, he was off lead and didn’t have a collar around his neck. The human smiled and stood back up, Ruth’s leash was firm in his hand at this point in time and he looked around him. If I could forget myself, And get lost in your eyes, I would It was a beautiful place that they had stumbled upon, well. It was advertised in brochure that Jaxie had gotten from a rather helpful younger tour guide owner named Ianto Jones. Still, the park was far prettier than the paper-foldy-thing had advertised and that was a good thing. Jaxie smiled as he looked down at Uhaku who looked back up at him, lolling his tongue in merriment. Jax smiled as he spotted a rather nice and secluded looking part of the park. He jerked his head in that direction, knowing that Uhaku would understand what he meant. Sure enough, the confident and handsome red husky padded slowly towards the tree, Jax smiled and tugged a little at the lead. Ruth’s mouth snapped shut and he lunged into the collar. Jax sighed and snapped the lead, Ruth coward at the discipline and settled down to a walk right next to Jax as the male stepped out. Jax smiled approvingly, “Good boy, Ruth!” He cheered at the dog, Ruth’s tail was a blur of motion. He barked, exposing his long white teeth and barked again. Jax snapped at the lead, “No, quiet.” He said sternly, Ruth’s tail stopped mid-swing and tucked under his body. He whined, large ears flattened down to his skull. If I could stay with your forever, And damn the world, I would Jax smiled and looked around the still unfamiliar landscape of the place he called his home. He felt a sudden urge to transform into his white polar bear form, and he noticed that his snout had already grown. Puzzle, he looked at his nosed and felt it with his hand. He WAS transforming, his mouth opened a little and he growled a deep sound. Jax closed his eyes and dove deep within himself and reversed the transformation. As he came out of it he was shaking with fear, this had never happened before! It was unheard of for him not to be in control of his transformation. His eyes narrowed as he thought about the weird energy Cardiff gave off. It had been building recently perhaps that was the source of his unwanted transformation. He let out a sigh and sat down under the tree. He had one leg up with the other leg laid out flat. His arm fell across his face as Jaxie lay propped up against a tree. Uhaku, sensing his human brother’s unease, tensed and remained on guard, growling at Ruth to behave himself. The puppy whimpered and crouched down near Uhaku. The red husky snorted and looked around them, keeping an eye out for anyone who could potentially harm his friend.Because you’re timeless to me

Looking down at himself he didn’t recognize himself in twenty-first century attire. It was something new, something he never thought of. Apparently Canada still kicked America’s butt in Hockey. Somehow this made him a little Nationalistic; but could you blame him as he was from Canada and they did have a very good hockey team. It was online. He read it, just like he read about the meaning of Ianto’s name and how NASA’s webpage as well as all the other ones were out dated so he was out wandering around Cardiff, getting lost to the bookshop. Somehow he made it there with much assistance from the man he met earlier which was why he was now settled down on a bench with a rather large Physic’s textbook. It was old, dusty, and held all his golden formulas. Or the keys of him remembering them, at least. That or he had the advanced math textbook which was sitting next to him. Hopefully one or the other would chug his memory because without either—well let’s just say he would be forever doomed. Actually he was doomed before that, thanks to the Canadian government and their lovely idea of locking up brilliant people for their own use with the claims of making the world a better place for bright kids. His parents believed it, and so he was signed away for the rest of his life for the purpose of science.
He clutched his bear in his other hand. The white plushie never seemed to leave his sight. Blame the government, they were the reason he was hear lost in time messed up and alone—well he did have Ursa and he hoped he had Ianto as a friend. His glasses fell down his nose and he found himself looking across from the bench at a man. He was blond, handsome, and had two dogs which appeared to be Alaskan Huskies. They were familiar enough, famed for the Alaskan Iditarod. He knew this because Alaska boarded the west of Canada. They were practically neighbors, even if he was from the eastern end. His hazel eyes watched the man with the dogs. His mind was diverted from his formulas just the man. Alistair couldn’t help himself, he tried to look back to the book but the man was too beautiful and transfixed him like the mouth to the flame. Then he changed, his face began to --- the Canadian couldn’t explain it as he was anything but a biologist. Physics and Biology were two different animals, similar yet so very different, rather like a fox compared to an iguana for an example. As soon as it stared it seemed to be over. Alistair blinked; it didn’t make any sense to him. He was a scientist and it wasn’t making sense. This bothered him. No physical law could explain that, unless it had to do with a shift of the universe, maybe he had just seen a glimpse of a parallel universe. Without hesitation he pulled his notebook and space pen and began jotting down ideas about his observation yet he froze when he felt the cold glare of the red dog’s eyes on him.
The notebook and pen soon went back to his pockets. His head bent quickly down into his book and he pretend to be reading it. As if he saw nothing at all. His mind went back to the memory, of the National Reservation Park. They had this polar bear and he loved it. Ally called the bear and it as he didn’t know if it was a she or a he. So he simply called it an it. It wasn’t just love; he was madly attached to the bear. Sometimes he would ask if they could go visit the reservation just to see it again. He wanted to run away with the polar bear—he was young only around fifteen at the time. It seemed like a good plan but they stopped him from climbing the wall. The warden gave him a sedative and the last thing he recalled was waking up in hospital wing after the incident. Clutching his plushie he wondered about what he just saw. Peaking up from his book, the man was still near the tree and the dog was still glaring at him. Shaking his head he tried to focus back on his equations. “Sigma sub e, raised to the power of…” he began to read it out loud. Alistair continued yet soon found himself stopping.

While he laid there, Jaxie's thoughts shifted to what could have caused the strange shift in his apperance. It had never happened before, perhaps it was something to do with the town as he'd thought before. Jaxie relaxed and withdrew into his inner being. He startled back out seconds later, provoking a whimper from Ruth. He stroked the large white ears and sighed. What was that? He'd felt something! Another signature, like his own, only stronger and more natural, more alien. Jaxie would have to discov-- what was that smell? His nose twitched several times back and forth as he sought to figure out what it was. It smelled vaguely like home. Metallic, Pine, strange air... there was someone here who should not be. He got confirmation from Uhaku when the dog suddenly growled softly under his breath. It took Jaxie a few seconds, but then it dawned on him that he was being watched, had been being watched for quite some time. He groaned and opened an eye, looking at Uhaku and sighed. The red husky was staring at something so intently that it really did make Jaxie curious to know just what it was. The male lowered his arm from his eyes and groaned, the light was really intense. He squinted and turned his eyes to look at what perhaps would have to have been described as the most handsome man he'd ever met. Jax blinked his eyes slowly as he studied the male studying him. When the male hid behind a book, but still watched him, Jaxie got more interested. He sat up, and Ruth sprang to his spry legs. Jax smiled and stroked the soft white pelt of his shepard as he watched Ally. The male had a soft looking polar bear plushie tucked into his arms. Jax smiled, and then laughed. If only this strange handsome man who smelled strangely like home knew... Jax was suddenly tempted TO transform and see what sort of reaction he got. He looked at the dogs and then got to his feet. Having never been the shy one about his affections or attractions, he walked calmly over to the black-haired male and smiled. He sat down right next to him without saying a word and sighed contentedly. He even went so far as to lean over onto the other male, a little at first, ready to spring up and leave him alone if he was spurned. Jax smiled as he inhaled the wonderful smell once more. Defenently from beyond his time period, and a strange place. Ruth busilly started to sniff at Ally and then floped himself down by the dark and handsome featured man. He panted happily and yapped at Uhaku who had maintained a dignified air about him despite his own curiosity of the current... conquest... his brother was loving upon. He panted slightly in pleasure when Jaxie's hands found his coat and started to rub back and forth in the soft and thick fur. Jaxe looked up at Ally and smiled, "What's your name gorgeous?" he asked calmly.

Stay focused. Don’t look up. Don’t look up. Don’t look up… mind over matter. Though matter is ---great I’m starting to think like my father. Come on I need to figure out what went wrong. Alistair mused for a while as he stared at the page before him. The words looked like an endless sea of information that may or may not aid him. He had to find the chain of variables though, he told Ianto he could and he was not going to let the very nice Welshman down. The formula had to be solved. It was simple enough once he recalled the formula. So he needed to keep hunting thought the books. Both math and physics were interconnected they worked hand in hand. For instance the original Sting Theory formula came from Euler’s equation.
If the man was to fully transform into a polar bear Ally would be happy…a little confused but content. He always adored polar bears. Once he even tried having a love affair with one yet it never really worked out thanks to Malone. That man had to ruin everything. His wife, Molly was nice though. Lovely pair of ginger haired people. Twisted and odd but they somehow fit together like a glove. Alistair wondered what they were up to at the moment. Sylvester was probably still playing his cello and singing Carmen. Knowing him, he might even be working up the catfish gnome. See Sylvester was a marine biologist. He played in a quartet with him. Alistair sometimes took up the viola part because no one else wanted to. Violin was hot because Einstein played it. They were all a bunch of nerds. Sometimes instead of classical music for their chamber music they played scores of Star Trek.
Wait? Was someone sniffing him? The Canadian stilled in his seat and continued to look at his book. Perhaps it was some sort of culture thing. Ianto didn’t do that but maybe other people did. Ally began to wonder about things and smiled to himself at the thought. It was different. But wasn’t everything? Ally was from a time and place that was far far away. Nothing would ever be the same here and now. It couldn’t be. Things didn’t work like that. Alistair knew this. Putting down his book he looked over at the man. It was the handsome man with blond hair. For a while he just observed him taking in all his biological features. Pretty thing he was.
Blushing he opened and closed his mouth. “I…. Alistair Hubble, PhD. You can call me Ally if you like.”

As he waited for the handsome man to talk to him or respond in any sort of way apart from flipping the pages in his book, Jaxie glanced at his dogs. He smiled when Ruth lolled his tongue at him and panted merrily from beside the male’s feet. His gaze flicked over towards his red husky for a minute before he stared at the simple beauty of the dark haired male he was currently resting on with his eyes half closed. He could sit there al day and just listen to the male breath… and smell so wonderful. He looked up to see that the male was giving him a strange look.
It was a look brought fire to Jaxie’s pants, and at the same time filled him with shame. The dark eyes were so innocent that Jaxie would have sworn that the male wasn’t mentally older than five. Perhaps he had some sort of brain disease? As soon as the thought passed over Jaxie’s mind he mentally scowled and sent it to the recycle bin. Emptied. Thought gone. He smiled pleasantly, looking at the male looking back at him with a contented look on his handsome features. He moaned almost silently as a faint blush spread out on the other’s face. Perfect. He was getting some sort of reaction that wasn’t ‘get the hell offa me.’ This were going good so far.
He went ridged when the soothing Canadian accented voice washed over him. He groaned mentally, how PERFECT. Canadian and gorgeous… Jaxie smiled and looked at Ally with happy eyes. A title, and a name—a nickname even! That was almost as good as getting to second base on the first date. Jax smiled, “Jaxom Holder, dog musher. And you can call me whatever you like with that Canadian accent,” he said with a sly wink. “The two dogs are mine, the white shepard’s Ruth and the red husky is Uhaku.” He grinned happily.

Alistair nodded as the man spoke. Scratch the last bit he was a gorgeous angle form a forbidden world of snow and ice; an ice prince of Canada’s neighbor of Alaska. Beautiful name with a job title; he never met a musher before even though he was Canadian. It was sad but somehow the name clicked on to him, Jaxom Holder. It seemed to fit into something he wasn’t too sure about. It wasn’t anything like the sort of things he did know about like astronomy and upper level mathematics. Dogs? What dogs? Oh the white and reddish husky. They seemed like a nice team of dogs. Loyal, well mannered, and not too loud everything a dog should be. Putting the books back into the bag he continued to hold onto his polar bear plushie.
Wait, did he just wink at him? Alistair realized this and felt a little odd. He never got winked at like that before. Yet somehow he liked this new world of love that he was exploring. So he stayed on the bench and decided to see where this man could lead him. It wasn’t like he had to be anywhere. Ianto just dropped him at the book shop and then left. He wasn’t even sure where the Welshman went off to. Alistair was certain Ianto could find him again or vice versa because everyone knew were the tourist office was. Getting lost wouldn’t be too much of a problem because of that matter.
“Nice to meet you,” he told the man, not really sure what else to say. He was speechless. “And you too.” He told the dogs. That was manners. Then it dawned upon him dog mushers were from Alaska the last time he checked which opened his mind to a million of questions. The speechlessness seemed to go away as his mind took over the task of performing its duty to his body. “So what brings you to Cardiff then eh? They don’t exactly have snow. I would think you would want Russia, Siberia, Greenland, or Canada for that sort thing. I mean… I never met a dog musher before.” Pausing he felt thick for asking such a ridiculous question. “Sorry, I didn’t mean…….” He was frustrated with his thoughts which couldn’t seem to get out from his mouth. The words and ideas clashed like a wave upon the shore.
After awhile he added sheepishly, “I’ll think I’ll call you Jaxie.”

Jax watched the handsome man stare at him as he talked. He flashed the male a grin, suddenly wanting to partake in the kissing section of any sort or relationship – or further perhaps. He glanced down at the books the male was holding and then couldn’t help but notice how much larger Ally’s hands were than his own. He grinned suddenly, obviously dirty thoughts had to be bouncing around his mind at a time like this. How could they not? Here he was, talking to the handsomest man in the world (at least Earth) and he had large hands. Jaxie grinned as Ally remained on the bench and allowed Jax to lay on him partially as well.
Jaxie’s eyes closed as he listened to Ally speak. Perfect intonation… this was something that Jax was sure he could fall asleep too. In fact… he seemed to be falling asleep as it was. He grinned and snuggled his head into the comfy shoulder of Ally. His eyes opened slightly to look at the white polar bear plushie in the man’s arms. Jax grinned again. Just wait until Ally saw his other form… he was positive the male would flip. Wait. Hang on. How did Jax knew he would know Ally later on? That they would meet again? With a mental snort he sent those thoughts flying. Of COUSE he would be with the male later on. He’d never let one this gorgeous get away.
He smiled and forced his mind to focus on what Ally had just asked him, “Hm? Oh. Well… I’ve always had a interest in Cardiff. And I like it here, plenty of open spaces and cold water to swim about in the dead of winter.” Jax shook his head firmly, “Those places… essh. Too intense, everyone there is all – “IAMDISNATIONALITY.YOUAREOUTSIDER!”.” Jaxie laughed, then he amended, “Well, not Canada. Canada’s cool.” He grinned at Ally, then lifted an eyebrow, “Truly? We’re a dime a dozen in Alaska. If you’re not a dog musher you’ve gotta be from out of state.” He laughed again and eased himself deeper into Ally’s shoulder. Mhm. Good warmth.
He looked up again as Ally gave him a nickname, “Mhm… Jaxie. Sounds cutesy.” He grinned, and then, on complete impulse, lifted himself up and kissed Ally on the cheek as if they were an old, affectionate married couple.

It was awkward, the guy was staring back at him and he was well getting nervous. Sure, he was blond and beautiful and like they always said it was the blonds who had all the fun. Ally looked back down to his book feeling weak to the attractive prince of the arctic. How could he let himself do this? Sighing he wondered about why things were they way they were and why the universe ticked and functioned in such an odd way. Little did he know it was simply that the universe had a system of checks and balances. Some things were just meant to play out a certain way and others could occur in a multiple amount of ways.
Shifting back into his seat he felt the man nestle his head deeper into his shoulder. Ally felt utterly helpless to the man and found himself just sitting there letting him rest upon his shoulder. Ally gazed down at his book on his lap and then picked up Ursa—his white polar bear plushie and readjusted its position.
Smiling, Ally beamed at Jaxom’s explanation. Something about this man from Alaska made him feel at ease, like he could tell him anything and not have to worry about it. Maybe it was the smooth easy going nature that he got from him. No matter what it was Ally like it. It was a good feeling. “It can’t be that bad….can it Jaxie?” He turned to look at him. “I guess it is. Then again my opinion if it is biased as I am Canadian. And yes we do say ‘eh.’ And I do fiddle…. I am so stereotypical, I guess.”
“So you like it then?” Ally didn’t expect what was coming next. The man kissed him on the cheek and he blushed a deep crimson. Turning away he looked down at his text books. Damit now the guy would know he liked it, and moreover him. Ally felt horrible and wanted to just bury himself somewhere so he hid behind his books and bear once more.

Jaxie could tell that Ally was quite a bit nervous. He didn’t really feel nervous himself, but he understood Ally’s reason for being so. Jaxie let him think it out and let his mind wander, if he took Ally home, was he going to show him his other side? The man might be shocked, but Jaxom had a sneaky feeling that he would accept the polar bear side of the Alaskan man without a second thought, and maybe demand. Jaxie felt his spine grow cold, who knew? But he had a feeling more than just fate had brought the two together in this moment, and he was determined to keep it that way.
Something about Ally was completely soothing, enjoyable. He glanced down at the polar bear plushie and smiled. Yeah, the man would just love his other side. In fact, Jaxie’s eyes glanced around. He was tempted just to show Ally now. But no, there was a woman walking towards them slowly. She stopped and squinted at them and then gave them a wide berth. Jaxie grinned savagely.
He started to pay attention again when Ally started to talk once more. He tilted his head for better hearing and smiled. He lifted up a hand and poked Ally in the nose, “You’re not stereotypical. You’d be that if you were dog-crazy over hockey.” Jaxie paused, “You’re not, are you?” He hadn’t meant to possibly offend Ally by his comment, and he sighed. When he kissed the man, he was amused to find out that Ally was blushing. Hmmm… interesting. Perhaps his first gay relationship? Maybe even his first relationship at all… Jaxie suddenly felt a little more honored than before. “Of course I like it.” he said in response. He brought up his hand and tilted Ally’s face towards him slowly, and then kissed him tenderly on the lips, “You gave it to me.”[/size]

Was Ianto going to come back for him or was he going to get lost going back to the Tourist Center? Ally let his mind wander to later. He didn’t have to go back there but somehow Ianto felt like home to him. However Jaxom also felt right. Ally couldn’t place what this feeling was as he never was in love before sides for the polar bear. But he was only fifteen at the time; it was a long time ago. Shaking his head in though he looked down at Ursa. He clinged to him feeling truly lost now. It was so overwhelming he had no idea until this moment.
As he clenched his bear he wondered if this what fate was. Running away miles away from home and being kissed on the cheek by strangers from Alaska. It almost sounded like those love stories that one heard about in some novel or something. No, he didn’t see a lot of the films and such as he was a prisoner of the Institute. He shivered at the dark thought. It was a scary place that he lived in, he wanted to go back home to Nova Scotia with his parents and --- then what? Have the government come back for him as he was theirs now. No, he couldn’t go back there. Not ever.
“Honestly? I never saw a match on my life. They didn’t let me watch much telle. They always made us work….” Ally looked down at the ground feeling like a child. That’s how they treated them, like a pile of children who knew nothing about anything. Which in a way was true. They were all still the children they were when they were brought into the Institute. “You do?” He gulped looking back to him for a mere moment. His face was moved and he looked cluelessly at him. Then came the kiss and he blushed harder and found himself kissing back. Alistair found himself in love with the blond haired man. “Et je pense j’adore vous.” He kissed him again as he just told him that he tought that he was in love with him.
