Donna laughed as Alex asked her if she had caught any fun bad guys. Fun, most of them aren't fun said Donna thinking about the weevil that jack had shown her. She had dropped her drink and ran towards the stairs asking jack if he was trying to frighten her to death and asking him what the hell it was. That was the first time she had seen a weevil now she was getting used to them. Sinister? well yeah a few laughed Donna.
Donna stared where Alex had pointed and Donna began to smell the coffee, it smelt so rich and fresh to Donna although she didn't like coffee. Although i might give it a go for once she thought to herself. She could see crowds of people sitting outside it drinking coffee or tea and eating lunch like they didn't have a care in the world, Donna knew different she knew that there was alien life forms and they were on earth now somewhere. Some good, some bad and some just plain ugly but they were still her on earth and Donna doubted that anyone knew about aliens.
Donna reached the shop and sat down as a waiter came to her. He asked what they wanted and Donna looked down at the drinks section of a menu that was lying on the table. I will have a cup of tea said Donna changing her mind of getting a coffee and someone spat some out behind her on a different table. Alex what do you want ? she asked.

Alex snorted her agreement. 'Fun' wasn't the best choice of words after all. Not unless their specialty was clowns, of course. That wasn't a bad idea, come to think of it. Did anyone actually like clowns? They needed policing. Maybe extermination. Alex gave a faint, internal shudder. "Probably a good thing," she commented easily. "Though from what I've seen, Cardiff doesn't have that much of a crime problem. Maybe 'cause of places like yours. Some...weird things...but nothing serious. Not as many of the problems most cities have." Even that was probably nothing. Bored newspaper writers had this way of finding things to report, the more ridiculous the better. Alex liked tabloids a bit too much, too. "Honestly," She continued with a grin, "Unless you're worried about aliens in the sewers..." Unless there was some gang or drug ring that was disguising themselves as aliens. That'd be pretty cool.
Alex was a bit surprised when she caught a whiff of pastries and coffee. The walk went by all too quickly. On the other hand, coffee was good now, rather than later. She sniffed. They were definitely roasting their own beans. The music was pretty good, too. Not her favorites, but no one played those. Probably better off, her taste could be questionable. She followed Donna to a table and plopped down across from her. Ooh, a waiter already? Great service. "Iced coffee, black, two sugars?" she requested without thinking. It was her default answer for places like this, and she didn't feel like reading much. An item under the specials caught her eye, however, and Alex gave a puzzled frown. "Does that say...banana? Coffee comes in banana?" She had noticed a guy behind Donna that looked a little queasy. Maybe she found the reason for it.

Aliens in the sewers ? Now that would be funny Said Donna trying to fake laugh. She thought back to that weevil again and shuddered hoping that no one noticed seeing as it was a rather nice day. Alex brought her back to earth as she said banana coffee it reminded her of the doctor, she would have to tell him about it when she got back. Banana coffee? Donna opened her mouth and placed her finger near it showing that it was sick. Who comes up with this stuff ? laughed Donna.
She reached into her back as the waiter came over for the money. Donna the coffee herself for a change. She didn't want to say the name torchwood too much or she might get chased down the street by a alien that looked like a human. She handed him a note paying for Alex's as well. The waiter handed her the change and placed the coffees on the table in front of them Thanks she said They were quick

"Of course it's funny," Alex replied with mock seriousness. "If I were an alien, no way I'd live in the sewer. So wet and cold, and no coffee shops." She grinned foolishly. "if humans can't live without McDonalds and customer support, how are advanced alien races supposed to?" She was exaggerating, sure, but there was no way aliens would limit themselves to the darkest corners they could find--not if they could help it. "Explains telemarketers, actually," she continued thoughtfully. "Aliens need jobs too." Alex paused her musings when she saw Donna shudder. "Hey, you okay?" she asked. Maybe it was the mention of banana coffee? Seemed pretty weird to her too, but not shudder-worthy. Not particularly cold, either.
Alex was quickly distracted by the arrival of her coffee. Donna's offer to pay caught her off-guard, and she stammered something out. "Oh, um, thanks. And yeah, great service here." Wasn't a big deal, really, but like being dependant, even for such a small thing. Old habit. She took a sip of her coffee appreciatively. Awesome--dark, strong, and just a little bitter. little bit like her last girlfriend, come to think of it. No. Weird comparison. Needed to stop obsessing over her, anyway. "So how's your tea?" she asked, trying to get back to the conversation. Tea. Not aliens or girlfriends. Right.
